The Chinese city of Yinchuan is set to host the 6th China-Arab States Expo, an event that aims to enhance cooperation and promote trade ties between China and Arab countries, as well as foster bottom-up economic ties. The expo, scheduled for September 21 to 24, is expected to attract a large turnout.
China is securing the participation of 14 Arab countries in the Expo, which is expected to draw more than 50,000 attendees. The Expo is also expecting representatives from more than 60 international businesses and trade organizations, and among the participating countries, the Expo has given a special place to Saudi Arabia. It has been given the status of ‘Country of Honor’ which shows the important role of Saudi participating in the event.
The Vice Chairman of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Wang Li, underscored the importance of the event, stating, “The 6th China-Arab States Expo is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, making it of great significance.”
The Belt and Road Initiative, an ambitious project launched by China, aims to improve global trade routes, and the Expo aligns with this vision, serving as a platform for promoting international business collaborations and investment opportunities.
Reflecting on the success of past events, the preceding five editions of the Expo resulted in the signing of over 1,200 cooperative projects between China and Arab countries. This year’s event promises further expansion, with over 20 investment projects expected to be inked during the Belt and Road Trade and Investment Promotion Conference, a notable segment of the Expo.
Yang Chengxi, reporting from Beijing, revealed that through numerous official and business interactions between China and Arab nations in recent years, both sides have reached a consensus to further strengthen cooperation in crucial sectors such as technology, automobiles, and energy.
Trade relations between China and Arab countries reached US$200 billion in the first half of the current year, reflecting the growing economic ties between these countries. The Expo is expected to further catalyze this progress and promote greater integration, investment and trade opportunities.
