Amid the backdrop of the flourishing Vietnam-Korea trade relationship, Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) are set to further strengthen their bonds as the northern port city of Hai Phong gears up to host the Vietnam-Korea trade promotion week from September 1-10. This significant event is aimed at marking the 31st anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Amid the bustling city backdrop, the event intends to not only stimulate trade and investment activities but also to introduce participants to the rich culture, tourism, history, and people of Vietnam and RoK. By doing so, it hopes to enhance mutual understanding and foster the strategic cooperative partnership that exists between the two countries. The ties between Hai Phong and the RoK are of particular focus.
Visitors to the event can expect a vibrant scene, with close to 100 booths set up for their perusal. Out of these, 16 will showcase a medley of Vietnamese and Korean products while 72 will tempt the palate with an array of delectable Vietnamese and Korean cuisine, specialties, and beverages. In addition to this, there will be playing areas and interactive zones designed for both children and adults, ensuring a lively and immersive experience for all. Cultural activities further promise to add a touch of tradition and heritage to the proceedings.
The Republic of Korea’s commitment to Hai Phong is evident in its impressive investment in the city. With 105 projects valued at roughly 9.97 billion USD, the RoK leads in both volume and value of FDI projects in Hai Phong. As of last year, these investments produced an impressive 14.5 billion USD in revenue and contributed 3.57 trillion VND (155.2 million USD) to the city’s budget. Furthermore, these projects have provided employment opportunities to 41,000 individuals. The RoK’s dedication to progress is clear, with most of their projects in Hai Phong focusing on high-tech solutions.
The Korean language learning system in many schools in Vietnam proves how strong the trade relationship between the two countries has been for three decades. The ‘Vietnam-Korea Trade Promotion Week’ will help strengthen their deep ties. The diplomatic relationship between the two countries is full of mutual growth and understanding which is a model for other countries.
