Significantly aiming to boost bilateral ties and explore new realms of cooperation, Bangladesh’s largest-ever business delegation, led by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, embarked on a groundbreaking journey to Saudi Arabia this Sunday.
The formidable delegation, comprised of 53 influential businessmen representing top Bangladeshi conglomerates, aims to attract substantial cooperation and investment, primarily focusing on sectors such as energy and telecommunications.
This historic visit marks a crucial chapter following the upliftment of cooperation opportunities witnessed since March, catalyzed by the pivotal visit of Saudi Commerce Minister Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi to Dhaka. Significant advancements were made with Saudi Arabia diving into Bangladesh’s thriving sectors like energy, seaport, and agriculture through the inception of multiple strategic investment agreements, laying a robust foundation for enhanced bilateral business relations.
The delegation, representing a diverse array of industries, includes magnates from realms such as construction, healthcare, automobiles, and consumer packaged goods. Esteemed conglomerates such as the United Group and IFAD Group are part of this landmark delegation, bringing forth their aspirations to foster joint ventures and technological exchanges with potential Saudi counterparts.
United Group’s director, Malik Talha Ismail Bari, exhibited profound optimism and a strategic vision, expressing eagerness to intertwine cutting-edge technologies and smart city paradigms prevalent in the Kingdom with Bangladesh’s burgeoning technological landscape.
An array of meetings is slated to transpire across various Saudi cities, including the revered cities of Makkah and Madinah, where the delegation is poised to delve deep into discussions pertaining to sectors such as garments, logistics, and pharmaceuticals.
Furthermore, spotlighting the energy sector as a pivotal area for collaboration, Taskeen Ahmed, IFAD Group’s Vice Chairman, emphasized the rich investment landscape that Saudi Arabia boasts, particularly in power and energy, and articulated aspirations to strategically align these investments with Bangladesh’s developmental visions.
In an era marked by technological advancements, Genex Infosys, a leading IT service management entity based in Dhaka, has also set its sights on this visit as a golden opportunity to usher in investments, especially in the telecom infrastructure domain, thereby fostering a vibrant networking ecosystem and facilitating the exploration of new markets.
This pivotal delegation seeks not merely to enhance the bilateral ties but also to sow the seeds of long-term partnerships and joint ventures, thereby nurturing the landscapes of innovation, investment, and industry in both nations.
