Organic Nutrition Limited (ONL), a prominent Bangladeshi company, has marked its entry into the global functional food market by launching its flagship products in the United States. The announcement was made during a press conference held in Dhaka today, 21 December.
The company revealed plans to expand further into Europe and the UAE, highlighting its ambition to establish a strong presence in international markets.
Speaking at the event, Iftaker Rashid, Director of Organic Nutrition Limited, said, “Traditionally, Bangladesh imports premium health foods from developed nations. Today, we are reversing this trend by exporting world-class, locally produced functional foods to global markets. This is not just a business success but a matter of national pride. We believe this sector will play a significant role in the country’s export earnings.”
The launch follows an extensive quality inspection conducted by the US-based company Teal Gaia in March 2024. After evaluating ONL’s production facilities and confirming the superior quality of its offerings, Teal Gaia placed a significant order for four flagship functional food products: Joint Guard, Immune Plus, Cycle Comfort, and Turmeric Booster. These products became available in the US market in November 2024.
At the press event, ONL representatives stressed the importance of their mission to enhance health through scientifically formulated functional foods. Unlike conventional medicines or supplements, these products are designed for safe, daily consumption, offering a range of health benefits such as improved joint mobility, immune support, cardiovascular health, digestive wellness, and chronic disease prevention.
The successful entry into the US market marks a milestone for Bangladesh’s functional food industry, showcasing the potential for locally produced health products to compete globally.
