The business sectors of Cambodia and Australia solidified their partnership by signing three memorandums of understanding (MoU) yesterday, to promote and facilitate the export of Cambodian products to the Australian market. The collaboration agreement was signed in Sydney, Australia, with Cham Nimul, the Minister of Commerce. Officials from Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as well as representatives from Cambodian and Australian companies, were also present at the event.
In a statement released after the signing ceremony, the ministry announced that these memorandums of understanding are designed to promote and ease the export of Cambodian products, including rice and cashew nuts, to the Australian market.

The memorandums of understanding were signed between Cambodian companies like Amru Rice Cambodia, Khmer Foods Group, and Mirarth Agri Tech, and Australian companies such as Green Group, MarketPlace Fresh, Omara Import & Export, and Balha Sweets.
The agreements come as trade relations flourish between the two nations, with Cambodia seeking to expand its Australian market presence. Ministry of Commerce data shows Cambodia’s exports to Australia reached almost $598 million in 2024, representing a 19.2 % jump from the previous year.
Lim Heng, Vice-President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, praised the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreements for their positive impact on trade between Cambodia and Australia. In an interview with Khmer Times, Heng stated, “RCEP is playing an important role in strengthening and facilitating trade relations and making new opportunities for businesses and investors in both countries.”

He highlighted that Australia is one of the largest recipients of Cambodian products and is also a potential source of investment in Cambodia. During the event, Nimul presented the world’s largest sample of Cambodian cashew nuts to representatives of the Australian private sector to promote and encourage further exports to Australia.
