His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum unveiled the largest logistics hub globally for foodstuffs, fruits, and vegetables trade in Dubai. This initiative of food logistics targets the world’s biggest market, marking a significant stride in Dubai’s quest to emerge as a global economic leader.
This project plays a crucial role in the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the size of Dubai’s economy and place it among the top three global economic cities by 2033. The logistics hub aims to boost investment and economic opportunities, elevate residents’ quality of life, and bolster the city’s overall appeal and livability.
“Today, we have launched our plan to develop the largest logistics hub in the world for the trade of foodstuffs, fruits, and vegetables. This expansion and doubling of the current market area will support our economic agenda and create larger commercial and investment opportunities. We have entrusted DP World with the management, operation, and development of the market, linking it with markets globally,” stated Sheikh Mohammed.
Dubai’s prime location and advanced infrastructure position it as a premier commercial and investment hub, attracting leading global companies. His Highness emphasized the emirate’s dedication to enhancing its role in generating investment opportunities and integrating youth into evolving projects.
“Our goal is to position Dubai as a top destination for markets, export, and re-export operations across various sectors,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid asserted, “maximizing economic opportunities for investors.”
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum highlighted Dubai’s progressive economic vision, noting, that the new project will foster economic opportunities and a superior investment environment in the critical food sector, supporting Dubai’s D33 economic vision.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem underscored Dubai’s role as a global leader in creating investment opportunities and linking regional and global markets across various trade sectors. Establishing the world’s largest foodstuffs, fruits, and vegetables market will strengthen trade foundations through innovative logistical and financial solutions.
Dawood Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, emphasized the agreement’s reflection of Dubai’s continuous efforts to boost its competitiveness and attractiveness for investment, living, and working.
