The Dubai Chamber of Commerce (DCC) has unveiled the Mexican Business Council, for amplifying bilateral trade and investment with Mexico. Dubai’s escalating allure as a prime destination for global commerce, attracting a growing number of Mexican enterprises.
By the close of the first quarter of 2024, the Chamber recorded 108 Mexican companies as active participants, underscoring the vibrant interactions between the two economic landscapes. The foundational Annual General Meeting of the Mexican Business Council, conducted at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters, outlined critical objectives. These include fortifying economic bonds and crafting synergistic partnerships.
Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, articulated the significance of such collaborations. “We are committed to empowering Business Councils to contribute to increasing promising opportunities between the private sector in Dubai and business communities around the world. We aim to strengthen economic and investment partnerships across all sectors both locally and internationally as part of our drive to boost foreign trade and further strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading global business destination,” she remarked.
The Business Councils under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce umbrella advocate for firms and investors from specific nations based in Dubai, partnering with the chamber to foster sustained bilateral trade and investment surge.
These councils are integral to the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which targets an upsurge in foreign trade and aids local enterprises in reaching international markets. Dubai Chambers is pivotal in transforming Dubai’s vision into a global narrative by providing innovative services, facilitating influential networks, and empowering businesses.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, initiated a substantial restructuring of Dubai Chambers in March 2021. This reorganization resulted in three specialized chambers: Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Dubai International Chamber, and Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, each tailored to specific economic functions.
Additionally, the DCC successfully convened the second quarterly roundtable of 2024 for Business Groups and Councils, creating an invaluable platform for private sector representatives in the emirate to delve into economic growth prospects and burgeoning industry opportunities.
These initiatives by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce not only refine the local business climate but also enhance the competitiveness and efficacy of emirate-based companies, aligning them with prevailing global economic conditions and ensuring their sustainable advancement.
