The convergence of these leaders in Doha marks a pivotal moment for the 44th GCC’s supreme council and the seventh Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council meetings.
Leaders from both countries emphasized their dedication to advancing sustainable development and growth for their peoples. The Council’s meetings resulted in various agreements and memorandums of understanding, signaling a forward momentum in their relations.
Sheikh Tamim extended congratulations to Prince Mohammed for Saudi Arabia’s successful World Expo 2030 bid in Riyadh and the nomination for the 2034 World Cup. Satisfaction was expressed over the progress achieved through the Council’s subcommittee meetings, focusing on several strategic areas.
Discussions encompassed significant regional and global political topics, with a consensus on strengthening cooperative efforts. Security and military discussions were prominent, with plans for enhanced consultations and expanded training and scholarship opportunities for both countries’ personnel.
Sports collaboration, especially in light of the Qatar World Cup and Saudi Arabia’s aspirations for the 2034 event, is featured as a key area of cooperation. The countries also aim to strengthen their cultural, tourism, and entertainment connections, focusing on easing access for international tourists.
