Zhang Tao, who sits as the Vice-Chairman of the Sub-Council of Textile Industry of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, shone a spotlight on China’s concerted push towards greener practices in its textile and apparel industry. He underscored their goal of establishing a green supply chain that champions green fiber materials, eco-friendly manufacturing, and recycling initiatives, catering to a burgeoning global demand for sustainable consumption.
China’s influence in the textile and apparel industry extends far beyond its unmatched manufacturing capacity and trade volume. It continues to uplift its standing within the international textile value chain. Between 2020 and 2022, China’s annual textile and apparel exports catapulted to new heights, averaging over 300 billion U.S. dollars and scaling an unprecedented summit of 323.3 billion dollars last year.
Amid global fluctuations and uncertainties, the U.S.-China economic and trade relationship emerges as a beacon of enduring international cooperation.
